An update from the BSG
In March, we announced that we had taken the decision to postpone BSG2020, due to be held in Liverpool, in June 2020 until 8th-11th February 2021, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Senior Officers of the BSG along with our CEO and our conference partners, have been taking regular advice and reviewing the situation to ensure we can deliver a high quality meeting for all attendees. As doctors and health care professionals, we have an ethical duty of care to our patients and to our colleagues in the current crisis.
The situation continues to unfold, and the BSG senior team have considered this carefully, and have decided that the risks of proceeding with a face-to-face event in February are too high. Therefore, we believe that the best course of action is to further postpone BSG2020 until 19th– 21st May, 2021. We will be returning to Glasgow for a 3 day scientific programme, and will reopen our abstracts submission process later this year.
